Let Us Speak Korean! Starting with Korean Alphabet

We should start to learn first the Korean alphabet so that we can proceed with the writing and reading of Korean words.

CONSONANT:

Korean letters = English pronunciation

= g (pronounced close to “k” at the beginning of a word)
= n
= d (pronounced close to “t” at the beginning of a word)
= l (pronounced between an “r” and an “l” and near a “d”)
= m
= b (pronounced close to “p” at the beginning of a word)
= s
= no sound in first position; “ng” in padchim
= j (close to a “ch” at the beginning of a word)
= ch
= k
= t
= p
= h
